While you are the only person who has found a place, a private log is readable by you and nobody else, and it stays that way for as long as that is true. If the spot converges, those notes join the shared entry, without your name. The private note field is the part that is never pooled under any condition, including from the operator.

A spot becomes a shared entry once 3 different people log within 75m of it. Every log counts toward that number, whatever privacy it was written at. At that point the notes are pooled so everyone can use them. Names are only ever shown for people who chose to be credited. The full explanation is here.

You can delete your own log at any time, and if it was the only thing keeping a pin public, the pin stops being public too. Visibility is worked out from the logs that exist right now, so removing yours genuinely removes your contribution.

Access information goes out of date. Gates get locked, roads close, permit rules change. Anyone can mark a note as still accurate, and the date of the last confirmation is shown so you can judge it yourself. Nothing is ever marked overdue, and nothing is deleted for being old.

Nothing right now. Locatrove is free while the database fills up, because a discovery tool with very few spots in it is not worth paying for. If that changes, it will be stated plainly before anybody is charged.
